Great Discussion, Coaches…
Regarding the absolute need to know the pulse of your team, I harken back to what I heard Coach Meyer shared (this is a paraphrase for I don’t remember it exactly): “The Masterpiece of the painting is determined more by what was left out than what was put in.”
Knowing the pulse of your team is an ongoing development throughout the season; being able to adapt/adopt to what the team needs is a coaching behavior not easily accomplished.
